39. If my house burnt down...

Standing here I look out of the sparkling window to survey the beautiful day. The rays of the spring sun are shining down, touching the horizon and the tops of trees. I just want to go out and play, I can imagine it, riding my bike with the wind being whipped at my face but I can't, I'm not allowed. Someone is coming to our humble abode and mom wants me to look outstanding and not get filthy from outside. She is cooking, smells of a bakery fill our home. I look back out the window. Confusion fills me, it was a very admirable day before, why is it so dark now? What's that bitter odor captivating my nose? Suddenly, mom drops the tray, food goes everywhere. She is screaming at us to get out. The house is on fire! Panic fills me and my siblings. How did this happen? Hearing the piercing cry of my one year old brother brings me back to reality. I grab him and hold him tight, I am so afraid to let go. My mom hands me the phone and tells me to get out, she has to go get my sisters. I see my favourite toy, it's just laying there waiting for someone to play with it. It was a birthday present for my fourth birthday in November. I snatch it up. Cradling it to my chest with my brother. Slamming the room doors closed as fast as we can, we run downstairs. My sister runs out after my mom, they don't have shoes on. Looking at my other sister, we take the shoes, as many as we need for the five of us. It took less than a minute for our world to be turned upside down. How long until it goes back to normal? My mom took the phone from me, and called 911, we didn't have to wait long because the neighbours had already phoned. I stood there looking at the house, a monster was consuming my home, eating it as if it had been starving for months, years and nothing could stop it. The flames licking the walls as if they were satisfied by ruining this peaceful day. I stand here wishing I had gotten my bike so I could ride far far away. Away from the wails, away from the destruction.

Top Three List

The Top Three Amusement Parks to Visit

My choices are based on the following criteria:
1. How much fun I had there
2. Location
3. The popularity of park
4. Overall uniqueness
5. Amount of rides available

#3. Knott's Berry Farms
Knott's Berry Farms is only eight miles away from Disneyland in California. This is a great theme park because it has many roller coaster and has a very safe feeling to it. It isn't as crowded as many other amusement parks so when I went I found it very easy to travel from one ride to another. I like roller coasters which is great because they are the parks main attraction. Inside the park, they have Mrs. Knott's Chicken Diner Restaurant which is famous for its fried chicken, that is supposedly better than KFC's. Knott's Berry Farms didn't place second best on my list because it only has 39 rides and roller coasters in total.

#2. Canada's Wonderland
It is located close to Toronto already making it better than the rest because it's in Canada. It has the two fastest and tallest roller coasters in Canada; the behemoth which was number one until the Leviathan was built in 2012. They sell amazing funnel cakes and almost 200, 000 are sold in one season. Its great to spend a day with family there and I will never forget my experience. Also, Canada's Wonderland has a ride called the Sledge Hammer, it is a 'one-of-a-kind' attraction with no other similar ride ever built.

#1. Disneyland
Disneyland has such a welcoming feeling and great atmosphere. No one can ever be bored and the churros that are sold there are the best. It is in the Top 10 list of Amusement Parks around the World. The attention to the detail in the designs of all the buildings and rides is so thought out and that's what makes it special. Best of all, the original Disney characters come alive there, its every kids dream. Also, Disneyland has 6 locations around world, making it available for many populations around the world. I will never be tired of going there.
